Hotel La Fortezza

Great little find close to the Congress de Basso centre, for work trip. Staff friendly and accommodating for providing general information, like touring around the city. The chap on reception (very funny man) gave me a box of their breakfast honey for free when I checked out, which was very kind. The only issue I had with the room was that the mattress was a bit hard for my liking and that the green shutter on the room window was broken and kept opening of its own accord. Annoying at night when you are trying to sleep and light was coming in as there were no curtains. They should have really fixed this as it was obvious that this was faulty. Breakfast was exceptional, great coffee. Would definitely recommend a stay here as it was reasonably priced and close to all amenities.

The staff were very polite and helping. The breakfast was super good. The croissants and the pancakes were delicious. There were everything you hope for in a breakfast. We had reservation for a standard room, but they told us since they will upgrade our room to superior with no cost. The upgraded superior room was absolutule beautiful , it had a roof window that looked to the sky. The room was very big and had everything wee need in it. It was very clean. The best thing about the hotel was that the people that worked in reception and the whole staff we very friendly and warm and helping always. They answered all our questions very eagerly and warmly:) Location was also very good. 15 minutes walking distance from the Duomo and 2 tram stops from the Santa Maria Novella Train Station.

Everything was just perfect. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, perfect location, nice and clean room in a quiet neighborhood. 20 min nice walk to the center or taking a tram that is close to hotel. There is also a hotel parking that is a big PLUS for people that would like to travel by car.

Location was very good to explore Florence one more night before airport departure in the morning. It was so nice of staff to carry our luggage up the steps in entrance and back down for cab in the morning. Appreciated staff calling cab in the morning for airport and cab arrival in minutes. Our room was very clean.

Generous and diverse breakfast offerings, bed very comfortable and bedroom very quiet, very helpful front-desk staff, located near to one of the tram lines and right near the edge of the ZTL, so walking into old-town takes little time. For some really good pizza, try Penta Bistrot three blocks away.
